Our Projects

Forest Carpentry Homes build new homes to our own designs. We never build big estates – just ones, twos and threes.

We are building three lovely homes in Friars Cliff at the moment. As of February 2017 the first one is nearly finished.

And in late 2017 we will start on a detached four bedroom property in Ringwood.

We have built right across the Forest – in Ringwood, Burton, Lymington and Christchurch.

New ECO Homes in Friars Cliff

East Cliff Way is a very quiet road and is one of the 3 roads in Friars Cliff with a Nature Strip. In the Autumn of 2014 we purchased 3 plots in that road – 2 of which had road frontage and one was across the back of them.

Work started on 3 homes in late 2015 / early 2016. The first is finished internally and we are just working on the landscaping. The other 2 will be ready in about 3 and 6 months.

What’s different about them?

They are all ECO homes. We see no point in just meeting building regs. for energy efficiency. The walls have 150mm of Insulation – this is triple current requirements.  The roof has 180mm. All windows and Veluxes are Triple glazed. Each house has 3.1kW peak of solar p.v. and a ‘Recoh-vert RV3’. The first house has an EPC of 98 and is A-rated.

In the first completed house all of the bedrooms are flooded with natural light. The main bedroom is the biggest bedroom that you will ever see. There – that’s a challenge. The kitchen looks great too

All 3 homes are unusual in having long gardens – though some of the gardens are sloping and wooded. Current common practice is to build new dwellings with very small gardens.
